The Road to Universal Parenting Support: A Readout from the Global Caregiver Forum and Next Steps

April 1, 2026 – This January, UNICEF, WHO, and the Government of Spain, with Support from the Global Initiative to Support Parents (GISP), organized the first-ever Global Caregiver Forum. The Caregiver Forum convened a select group of champion countries, multilateral bodies, private sector corporations and foundations, thought leaders, scientists, and public figures to develop a roadmap for scaling parenting support to all who need them.

This landmark event provided an opportunity to unpack the evidence and return on investment, highlight countries that have made concrete commitments to support parents, and mobilize collective action for increasing investments.

This webinar provided a detailed recap of the Caregiver Forum and charted a path forward to universal parenting support. Speakers shared how partners working at the country level can get involved and offered a roadmap for action, including advocacy opportunities at the country level, the Second Ministerial Conference for Ending Violence Against Children this November and the first-ever International Finance Summit for Early Childhood.

Speakers included:
• ECDAN
• UNICEF
• WHO
• Parenting for Lifelong Health
• International Rescue Committee
• Leading governments
