Expanded ECE Accelerator Toolkit Now Available
17 May 2023 – With the SDG mid-point soon upon us, there is an urgent need to accelerate action to achieve universal access to quality pre-primary education under Sustainable Development Goal 4.2, especially as gains have been eroded during the pandemic. One key strategy is to prioritize pre-primary education/early childhood education (ECE) so that it is systematically integrated and strengthened within national budgets and cycles of education sector planning and policy implementation.
The ECE Accelerator Toolkit is a key resource that can support this approach and strengthen countries’ capacity to better analyze, plan and implement quality ECE programmes at scale. Launched in 2021, the toolkit is user-friendly and knowledge-sharing “living platform” that is available open-source for downloading, translation and contextualization. Recently, new sections of the toolkit have been developed to help advocates and governments with implementation, monitoring, and evaluation. This webinar, co-organized by the Global Partnership for Education (GPE), UNICEF and ECDAN, shared insights from countries on how the ECE Accelerator Toolkit has been used to date and provide an overview of the new tools that are now available.
