Advancing Early Childhood Development: Showcasing the work of ECDAN’s Knowledge Fellows

April 19, 2023 – Please enjoy a special presentation of knowledge projects developed by ECDAN’s 2022 Knowledge Fellows cohort. These six early career professionals – Aanchal Kapur (India), Jaqueline Natal (Brazil), Durgesh Rajandiran (Malaysia), Pema Thinley (Bhutan), Bethlehem Girma (Ethiopia / Ireland), and Giang Le (Viet Nam) – have worked hard and dived deep into complex topics.

Their projects relate to serving children with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Vietnam, effectively financing for ECE in Brazil at the municipality level, analyzing the effectiveness of the pre-primary subsector in Bhutan, researching and developing a narrative review that explores systems thinking from an Early Childhood Development (ECD) perspective, developing a global library of parenting resources, and designing a repository of costing tools for financing quality ECE.

The discussion was moderated by Lucy Bassett, a member of the Knowledge Fellows Steering Committee and the opening remarks were provided by the co-chair of the Knowledge Fellow’s Steering committee, Dr. Nirmala Rao and Shekufeh Zonji, Global Technical Lead, ECDAN. The closing remarks were done by Elizabeth Lule, Executive Director, ECDAN.
