2020 – This study by the International Policy Centre for Inclusive Growth and UNICEF reviewed national policies for maternity and paternity leave, as well as breastfeeding supportive policies in the workplace in Latin America and the Caribbean. This executive summary indicates why maternity, paternity and parental leave and policies to support breastfeeding in the workplace are fundamental parts of comprehensive social protection systems and early childhood development strategies. It also summarizes results from comparative analysis of 24 Latin American and Caribbean countries with international standards and best practices.
