December 30, 2025 – UNICEF published version 3 of its policy guidance outlining 10 requirements to protect children’s rights in AI systems. Updated for 2025, the guidance addresses generative AI, AI companions, supply chain issues including child labor, environmental impacts, and AI-generated child sexual abuse material. Grounded in the Convention on the Rights of the Child, it provides governments and businesses with frameworks to ensure safety, privacy, fairness, and inclusion while preparing children for an AI-driven future.
