June 1, 2026 – UNESCO released a working paper that highlights the essential role of families, caregivers, communities, and nurturing relationships in shaping children’s learning and well-being from the earliest years. Using the Learning for Well-being living systems framework, it calls for coordinated, cross-sectoral policies and sustained investment to support children before they enter school, reduce inequalities, and strengthen the foundations for lifelong learning and development.
