December 30, 2024 – The Early Childhood Workforce Initiative is a global, multi-sectoral effort to produce new knowledge and equip decision makers with tools and resources to support the development of a quality early childhood workforce at scale. A growing body of evidence links well-trained and supported early childhood personnel with the achievement of positive developmental outcomes for children. Yet, across sectors, little is known about those working with families and very young children. Limited resources and attention constrain efforts to scale-up a quality early childhood workforce.
The Initiative is comprised of regional ECD networks and Results for Development Institute. Their website contains an explanation of what is meant by the early childhood workforce, six country briefs with promising practices, resources created by the Initiative, and a knowledge hub of relevant reports and briefs. They also produce newsletters, webinars, blogs, and more to share the latest developments related to the early childhood workforce.
