Cost of Inaction Tool

April 12, 2024 – ECDAN and partners developed and launched the Cost of Inaction tool in 2020. It is an advocacy resource that can help quantify the potential economic benefits that are lost when governments fail to invest in early childhood interventions. When funds are limited and the needs are many, it is difficult for decision makers to weigh the cost-benefit of their decisions. Because the impact of investing in the early years is not fully realized until decades later it is often not prioritized. ECDAN has recently updated the Cost of Inaction tool and it is freely available for all advocates to use. The page has a cost calculator with different parameters that can be adjusted and a frequently asked questions page.

If you have any difficulties using the tool, please contact ECDAN at [email protected].
