August 29, 2022 – ECDAN has produced a Cost of Inaction Tool that was pilot tested in the context of Brazil through this study. The study looked at three different types of early childhood interventions: early childhood education, nutrition, and home-visiting programs. It outlines characteristics these interventions should have in order to be effective, and then goes into specifics of the related laws and policies in Brazil that apply. Next, the report explains the cost of inaction calculation methodology and the results are presented by each intervention type. The report concludes with reflections on what the findings mean and considerations for scaling up early childhood interventions in Brazil.
