February 2025 – UNICEF has published brief that shares research on the unique vulnerabilities of children to environmental harm at three different stages of development. It provides information about the impact on pregnant women and developing fetuses, young children during infancy and early childhood, and adolescence in three sections. Each section contains key messages, examples of environmental hazards affecting children, and a technical summary of literature. The purpose of the brief is to enable evidence-based advocacy and action to protect children’s environmental health.
