ECDAN has established a Financing Technical Working Group composed of global leaders and experts committed to advancing sustainable financing for early childhood development (ECD). The group’s primary role is to design the first Global Technical Financing Forum for Young Children, scheduled for May 2026 in Rwanda, in collaboration with the Government of Rwanda, UNICEF, UNESCO, and the Africa Early Childhood Network. The Forum will serve as a platform to address critical financing issues and generate strategies for more effective, equitable, and sustainable investment in the early years.

The Working Group is assessing the current ECD financing landscape, identifying gaps and opportunities, and recommending innovative, sustainable reforms to strengthen multisectoral programs for young children. Its work also advances understanding of diverse financing models and improves tracking of investments beyond pre-primary education budgets.
