This in-person event will be part of the RewirED Conference at COP28 in Dubai on Friday, December 8, 2023.
ECDAN will partner will UNICEF to co-host this session showcasing global and national commitments, innovative practices, and scalable solutions to improve the climate resilience in systems that promote early childhood development and foundational learning. The discussion will demonstrate the potential investing in young children has to accelerate climate adaptation and create more sustainable futures.
Interactive dialogue in a fireside chat format will keep the audience engaged. ECDAN will lead a conversation with Heads of State from nations that are climate hotspots, UNICEF, GPE, Dubai Cares, USAID, and a youth and children’s advocate to shed light into program and policy innovations necessary to rollout cost-effective strategies to put children at the heart of climate action. Key resources will be offered.
The session contributes to the Youth, Skills, & Education theme and contributes to the first ever COP children and youth day on December 8. The session will galvanize key stakeholders across sectors, including youth, to make the case for global leaders to address the lack of resources and funding for climate-smart early childhood and education systems that support climate resilience, starting with the youngest learners, and empowers them to be agents of change for a greener, more sustainable planet.
