Latest research has demonstrated that parents and caregivers are the most relevant actors in supporting the achievement of positive early development of children. Accompanying parents through parenting programs and providing them with financial education is powerful to strengthen their financial decision-making and better use of limited resources to provide the best care for their children since their birth.
The aim of the project “Enhancing Parenting Support with Financial Literacy” promoted by The Human Safety Net and UNICEF in Indonesia and Italy over the past years was to propose and test financial education modules for parents with young children within their accompaniment in the For Families programmes.
During the event, representatives from Indonesia and Italy will present the main take-aways from this initial phase. In addition, The Human Safety Net and other participants in the project will outline how the adaptation of the contents of the Financial Education modules will take place in the coming months extending the scope to additional countries and local contexts.
