August 12, 2024 – Jaqueline França Natal is making a name for herself as a fierce advocate for investing in early childhood development with her unwavering dedication, boundless passion, and remarkable growth. Jaqueline comes from an economic background and wants to combine this knowledge with what is known about how to positively impact the lives of young children in her home country of Brazil and around the world. Jaqueline credits mentorship with a commitment to the field of early childhood development. Jaqueline shared information with a professor, who expressed gratitude for her insights, and this encouragement had a profound effect on her.
It was truly remarkable to hear such words from a professor. I will always remember those words of encouragement. They have stayed with me.
A simple gesture reignited her passion for making a difference in the lives of children. Jaqueline’s desire to contribute to the field of early childhood development connected her to ECDAN and motivated her to apply to be a Knowledge Fellow. She seized the opportunity to participate in the program, which provided access to global developments and other experts in the field. She completed her project in April 2023 but this was only the beginning of her efforts to share the Cost of Inaction tool and the insights she gained with others. At the 2024 CIES meeting, Jaqueline had an unforgettable experience and was able to present her work alongside renowned professionals. This was a significant achievement and professional development experience that will undoubtedly contribute to her future success.
Jaqueline’s dedication and proficiency are already reaping rewards. During the fellowship, she co-founded a WhatsApp group promoting ECD in Brazil. Today the group has more than 240 people from different sectors, and it will soon have its first in-person meeting to discuss innovative solutions to complex issues in the Brazilian early childhood agenda. Her message is getting traction. Additionally, a prestigious book about early childhood in Brazil has invited her to contribute as an author. Her connection to ECDAN and work as a Knowledge Fellow has helped her grow her confidence and connections, which are opening doors for her career.
Jaqueline’s future is filled with promise as she sets her sights on pursuing a Ph.D. in early childhood development. Her journey is still just beginning but already is a shining example for all those who dream of contributing to the field of early childhood development. Jaqueline is helping stakeholders understand how their investments can create positive change for children worldwide.
